"Botswana"

I visited Botswana between 12 Jul 2008 and 26 Jul 2008
"Overall it was marvellous.

The mobile safari with Grant was definitely the best bit of the holiday and well worth repeating,
Linyanti came a close second.

Shinde was very disappointing, the excellent facitlies were badly let down by the poor management and guiding

A couple of bits of information that others may find useful:

It's sandy underfoot at the campsites
Occasional clouds of dust unavoidable at this time of year, with this, photographers need to be cautious about changing lenses if using SLRs and contact lens wearers may find spectacles more practical
Getting a square to round plug adapter can be useful, gives increased flexibility at fixed sites and necessary for Grant's inverter on the mobile safari." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 6 on a Botswana safari

"Zambia-Botswana trip"

I visited Botswana and 1 other country between 12 Jul 2008 and 26 Jul 2008
"It was an extremely good holiday - one of the best we have had.

In retrospect, we would probably have mixed in more variety (eg perhaps a Kalahari camp). But your advice was extremely helpful in steering us to different and complementary places. it was great to be looked after so well in such lovely places - and the transfers worked like magic.

If you have enquiries about car hire in Zambia, please don't hesitate to recommend Voyager - they were exceptionally helpful and reliable.

I visited Namibia and 2 other countries between 4 Jul 2008 and 26 Jul 2008
"We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday which in the vast majority of instances exceeded our expectations.

Suggestions for improvement:

It would be useful to know the starting time for afternoon excursions at lodges/camps prior to arrival." Read full review: 22 nights in Africa; 11 on a Namibia trip

"Outstanding holiday in Botswana"

I visited Botswana and 1 other country between 1 Jul 2008 and 21 Jul 2008
"From the first contact with Expert Africa we were confident that we had made a good choice.

The lengths Lucy was prepared to go to in order establish our expectations of the trip and match them to specific camps, within our timescale, was extraordinary. She obviously had firsthand experience and was super efficient. Lucy was always a pleasure to talk to, and we really do feel it is down to her expertise that we had such a well-organised and balanced holiday that could not have gone more smoothly.

We were also pleasantly surprised that your prices are so competitive when you offer such a personal service.

Suggestions for improvement:

We have been very happy." Read full review: 20 nights in Africa; 11 on a Botswana safari

"A truly memorable trip to Botswana"

I visited Botswana and 1 other country between 30 Jun 2008 and 9 Jul 2008
"This was a wonderful trip, can't wait to go back. The organisation was excellent, especially the connections between Kasane and Zambia when we had to cross the river and we both thought we had to use the local ferry only to find we had our own personal boat to get us from Botswana to Zambia.

The lodges were excellent, as were the people and the food. We met some great people while we were there which made the trip even better.

No trip is perfect and we did feel that our pickup from Lebala airstrip at 10:00 in the morning was a bit early. We were obliged to cut short the early morning game drive and as a consequence did to not get a full breakfast. The pickup from Little Vumbura was at 13:00 so why could the same time not been applied for Lebala, or at least a bit later in order to have have breakfast.

But these are minor issues and in no way detracted from the overall success of the trip. There were so many highlights it's impossible to list them all, but the leopards mating at Little Vumbura is going to be hard to beat !!

Suggestions for improvement:

Keep doing what you are doing and you can't go wrong. Certainly I would happily recommend your company to anyone thinking of visiting southern Africa." Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 6 on a Botswana safari

"Lagoon and labala camps exceeded expectations"

I visited Botswana between 27 Jun 2008 and 8 Jul 2008
"The African people were extremley helpful and nothing too much trouble for them. The landscape veiws are really good with a fantastic sunset every night. There is always something to see.

The days were warm and extra blankets provided while out early morning and late at night to help keep the cold out. The hot water bottles in the bed at night in Lagoon and Labala camps were very welcome.

Our main disappointment were missing predators at Linyanti camp othrerwise a very special and memorable holiday for us both." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 9 on a Botswana safari

"One of the best holidays ever"

I visited Namibia and 1 other country between 26 Jun 2008 and 13 Jul 2008
"This trip exceeded our expectations in almost every respect and we are happy to recommend a similar holiday to others. Where we have commented on minor shortcomings, they did not detract from our enjoyment in the slightest.

From the first enquiry to Expert Africa, Maruska was most helpful and efficient, modifying and adjusting the itinerary to meet our requirements." Read full review: 17 nights in Africa; 9 on a Namibia trip

"Zambia Botswana Namibia 2008"

I visited Botswana and 2 other countries between 26 Jun 2008 and 21 Jul 2008
"The trip was absolutely excellent - your advice on routing was good and the choice of camps excellent. You were very efficient throughout and it was a pleasure dealing with you. On this basis we would be happy to recommend you to anyone wishing to do a similar trip.

One suggestion: we noticed that several people doing similar trips had been provided with a spiral bound booklet with more information about the itinerary, details about each camp, with photographs and maps. We would have appreciated something similar, which would not be expensive to produce and would have been a very nice touch. Given the cost of the trip, the excellence of your service and the quality of the camps and transfers this would be an appropriate part of the package you offer." "The hot and the cold"

I visited Botswana and 1 other country between 11 Jun 2008 and 24 Jun 2008
"We had a great time despite the lack of game - we know it can't be guaranteed and if it was easy we wouldn't do it - but we were disappointed by the lack of game at Linyanti - the last time we were in that area it was wonderful. Robin felt that we were in a 'pub with no beer' !

The disappointment however was totally negated by the great time we had with Grant.

Bearing in mind that this whole trip was put together about five weeks before we went - everything ran like clockwork - how unusual for Africa !" Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 5 on a Botswana safari
