"Mowani Camp fabulous"

2 nights Arrived 3 Nov 2012
"Wonderful camp set in the rocks - we loved it! Rooms were large and discreetly hidden from each other with excellent facilities.

Sundowner area was 2 minute walk away with its own bar with lovely cold beers! Staff very helpful and friendly. Our favourite of the trip!

Safari was excellent if a little long but that was the fault of the elusive elephants!" See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia

"Mowani seems quite a slick operation"

1 night Arrived 30 Sep 2012
"Our first experience of gravel roads on the way to Mowani - so it felt like quite a long drive from Erongo (although fine looking back).

The setting is very striking nestling in the pink rocks.

The staff were very welcoming but a bit on the pushy side for us. We would have preferred things a bit calmer!

The room was very nicely decorated and well equipped - and it was a good place to stay for the Twyfelfontein rock carvings, and as a stopover to Etendeka where we were headed next.

We didn't have time to go on any of Mowani's activities (we were only there one night) - but took ourselves to see the rock carvings." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia

"Mowani - so much more than a camp!"

1 night Arrived 17 Sep 2012
"We loved Mowani Mountain Camp, from the moment Heinrich gave us an exuberant welcome at the gate, to when he said goodbye (Ciao-ciaoooo!!!). The setting is just wonderful, and the view rooms have such a wow factor. The natural pool, the sundowner spot among the boulders, and the central areas for eating and relaxing are all fantastic. Food - no-choice set dinner - was very good.

Our trip with August, our great guide, was hugely enjoyable. The drive to find desert-adapted elephants was long but never boring, and when we found the herd, it was brilliant. We were also taken to the rock engravings, the organ pipes and burnt mountain.

We were only able to book one night at Mowani, but would have loved to have two to have a chance to relax in the beautiful surroundings." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia

"beautiful magical mowani"

2 nights Arrived 30 Jul 2012
"what an amazing place. the best in the whole of Namibia.

staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and helpful. The facilities are incredible and the rooms out of this world. Absolute luxury in the heart of the mountains. The excursion to see the desert adapted elephants was magical, travelling across damaraland to try to find them was great fun and then getting up so close to the herd was totally amazing and unexpected.

Heinrich's smile and exuberant welcome as you pass in and out of the gate of mowani creates the best first and last impressions we encountered on our whole trip." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana; 1n in Zimbabwe

"Mowani Mountain Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 9 Jun 2012
"We stayed here as Camp Kipje had had suffered a serious fire. It was a great place to stay, and very friendly. Marvellous setting.
Rooms were beautiful. Food was really enjoyable.

We visited the White Lady rockart on the way to the lodge, and the Twyfelfontein rock art whilst there. Both very worthwhile. On the day we left, we saw the Petrified Forest which is astonishing and well worth a visit." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia; 2n in Zimbabwe; 1n in South Africa

"Mowani Mountain Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 9 Jun 2012
"Wonderful welcome with cold flannels and a chilled drink whilst activities were explained. Our tent was beautiful - newly renovated with all mod cons and with stunning views over the mountains and valley. The sundowner spot is very special with drinks and nibbles and the company of rock dassies.

We went on the morning nature/game drive which was really enjoyable - we saw plenty of game and birds of prey as well as the desert elephants. We also took the guided trip to Twyfelfontein - good value and we got more out of this than if we had done this ourselves.

We had the same waiter throughout our stay which is a nice touch and all the staff were friendly and helfpul, although the service was definitely more formal here than at our other lodges. We particularly appreciated Stewart's daily sport results updates!" See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia

"Great sundowners at Mowani"

2 nights Arrived 5 Dec 2011
"After a very bumpy drive which was due to the road having been very badly damaged in the 'rains' we were delighted with our 'view' room at Mowani.

The camp is well run, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the sundowner drinks and snacks on the rocks were super. The game drives were interesting and it was great seeing the desert elephants.

The scenery is wonderful and the rock paintings and carvings at Twyfelfontein were stunning. The climb to the paintings etc was slightly difficult even with the pathway that has been built." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"Mowani Mountain Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 21 Aug 2011
"This was the only disappointment. We stayed here 10 years ago - it has since been sold, and we felt had really gone downhill. Bathrooms not clean and incredibly tired; the boys' rooms smelled of sewage. Furniture tatty; food and service not good.

Absolutely FREEZING the evening we were there - obviously, the weather isn't their fault, but there was only 1 very ineffective heater in the dining room/bar area, and no fire." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia
