"Doro Nawas review"
Our rooms were fantasic with balcones at the front looking out towards mountains and also steps upto a roof top balcony.
The main part of the lodge looks like a fortress and of an evening you can go to the roof top and look at the stars, you can also wheel your bed out onto the balcony of your room, we did do this and the stars were amazing, I must admit though we did not last longer than 30mins or so as there were still mosquito's and lots of other creepy crawlies trying to join us, the experience is a must though.
We went on an eve excursion to track Elephants and although we did not see them, there were lots of tracks and the whole experience was fantastic, we even had to get out and push the jeep as we got stuck in sand, it was just so exciting, great fun." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia

sites to see nearby were less exciting that the phenomenal ones we experienced near Sossuslvei, Swapkopmund, and Ongave Lodge" See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia
"Seeing desert elephants at Doro Nawas"
Graham was ill and could not leave the room and the staff were most solicitous and concerned. He said it was the best room to recover in. I went on an early morning desert elephant search alone with an excellent guide, Lister. He was great company and very patient and after a few hours we came upon two groups of elephants who had come together. It was fabulous being so close to these majestic creatures who totally ignored us and we spent a magical hour and a half just observing them." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia
"Doro Nawas review"
Lester, our guide, took us on an excellent trip to see the elephants - Oscar got a little too close for comfort, attempting to stick his head in the vehicle! We even got to see meerkats!
Our room (no 9) was large, bright and airy - even so we wheeled the bed out onto the balcony on our second night - amazing experience to wake at 3am and see the Milky Way overhead - it was by far the coollest (in both senses of the word) place to sleep and we'll remember it for a long time.
Food was plentiful and wholesome though service of cooked breakfasts was slow, delaying some people on their morning activity.
Activitied are rated as 'good' rather than 'excellent' as we thought some were overpriced.
We would return without hesitation" See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia

"We loved Doro Nawas"
Very friendly staff, good service. We had a very good guide, Lister, who managed to find the desert elephants.
One of the highlights of our trip." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia
"Another amazing place"
Guests are invited to roll the bed out on to the balcony and, 'sleep under the stars'. We thought we would give it a try - at 12.30 it started raining resulting in a frantic dash to get the bed back in! Do not try this in the wet season.
The trip to look for the desert elephants was a great success - we saw two seperate groups although seeing any is never guaranteed.
Our first dinner was not up to the standards we had become used to but the second was described in our diary as "good".
Once again, the staff were wonderful." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
"The Desert adapted elephants"
The morning game drive was efficient and enjoyable. The Desert adapted elephants were the purpose of the drive." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia
