"Spitzkoppe Lodge makes you feel like Royalty."

2 nights Arrived 5 Sep 2019
"Spitzkoppen Lodge is a brilliant place. The food is First Class and of Gourmet Standard, best food during the whole trip.

The rooms are great and the view from each looks out over the mountains. Worth waking up to.

Bird life and Lizards were plentiful to photograph.

The rooms are well spaced out and a considerable walk from the Dining Room. However, we never had to walk, as there was always a golf type buggy available, with a very willing driver at our service, to take us each way.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights here. The staff from the manager downwards were attentive, friendly and lovely." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Amazing place in an incredible place"

1 night Arrived 9 Aug 2019
"Great lodge in an amazing place and you can spot wildlife

Did one hike (3rd highest mountain - dont need a guide for this, but was very nice)

One thing: sometimes felt the staff was not treated correctly by the head of the lodge and felt sometimes uncomfortable" See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Spectacular Spitzkoppen!"

1 night Arrived 1 Aug 2019
"We loved this uniquely different lodge!
The chalets are delightfully unusual to look at and the rooms are huge and luxurious - with fabulous rocky views from the balconies and zebra grazing right outside the tent.
The bike ride to see the sunrise is really worth getting up for - and there are lovely walks.
The dining room is beautiful - but a little cold!" See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Very beautiful and different topography/photography provides a heck of a setting for a cleverly designed camp/lodge that is gorgeous in 360 degrees.

Tame sunset drive but raaaaaaather lovely son I'd have done the hikes if we'd had another night

The restaurant is exquisite." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia

"Spitzkoppen Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 5 Sep 2018
"We chose this lodge for the unusual location, interesting design and the fact that it's relatively new.

The stylish design and decor met our expectations and, although we enjoyed the general ambience, we felt that the main lounge/restaurant/bar area was slightly lacking in atmosphere, and was 'cold' in more ways than one. The staff went out of their way to rectify this, however, providing blankets and hot water bottles. The lounge might benefit from features such as more 'softer' furnishings, a log fire and staff being around more of the time.

The rooms were cold while we were there and the canvas on the chalets flapped around during the night (ear plugs were provided!).

The activity that we did was fine although the number of available activities seemed quite limited." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia

"We thought we'd arrived at a Star Wars set!"

1 night Arrived 30 Aug 2018
"Very comfortable cabins and a lovely dining room with fabulous view. The wind dropped at night so our sleep was not disturbed as reported by other guests - ear plugs are provided!

Activities revolve mainly around the scenery - few animals but several bird species, especially around the swimming pool.

Very good hot buffet.

One night was sufficient" See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"Gobsmacking location"

1 night Arrived 14 Jul 2018
"The location of this place took our breath away. It was very cleverly located on and around the boulders and we could not believe how utterly glorious it was after we entered the gate and wound our way towards the lodge. Staff team again superb, food delicious and guide brilliant. Only regret was that we only had one night.

The 'lodge' rooms however were least favourite on the whole trip. They were a bit like a static caravan with a tent over the top and under the heavy wind we had during the night rattled extremely noisily. I will never forget my 19 yo sons face as he came back to ours after unpacking and asked if we had a dead zebra on our floor too??" See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"Fantastic accommodation,location,staff & food"

1 night Arrived 4 May 2018
"The landscape as you approach the lodge once inside the main gate is spectacular and look out for the wild horses grazing nearby. Vehicles are left at the main lodge complex and you are driven by buggy over raised walkways to your accommodation. The well equipped and spacious chalets are set amidst the lunar landscape with views from the balcony out over the plain. The winds here are strong and we kept windows closed to stop the dust from entering. You can either walk along the boardwalks or arrange to be driven to and from the main camp area serving meals. Food is delicious with a varied selection on offer (buffet). The staff are friendly and polite with the manageress coming over to speak to all guests individually and welcome them to the lodge.

With hindsight we would have stayed longer than one night here to give us the opportunity to explore the location more. We did go on the early morning activity watching the sun rise on the Spitzkoppe mountain and seeing the drawings and rock formations which we were introduced to by our very excellent guide who was clearly well versed in entertaining guests." "The BEST scenery and lodge"

3 nights Arrived 30 Mar 2018
"Spitzkoppe had the best scenery in Namibia, and the best lodge for someone like me with special requirememts. The granite boulders were smooth like sandstone, and come in the most interesting shapes, with small trees growing out of the gaps. The mountains were made of rose colored rocks and rises majestically over the flat plains, and are visible hundreds of kms away.

The lodge is managed by Janine very competently. The staff here are the most competent and hard working I've seen anywhere on this trip, or virtually anywhere else I've travelled to. This is the only lodge that had virtually everything I had requested for my dietery need. The chef came to me with a plan for meals for the next 3 days upon my arrival, to check whether her plan suited me. She readily modified it during our discussion to suit me. It was amazing!

The rooms were good, and the transfer service between the restaurant and rooms were efficient.

The suggestions I have for improvement are:
• have non see through curtains ( one can only change in the bathroom at present), and there isn't enough feeling of privacy during daytime.
• provide a larger range of good for the buffet (I didn't eat from it but had seen it).
• have a more self explanatory map.
• put signs on main roads or intersections as many people getl lost in the area. I've read about this problem over the years. I don't undetstand why they haven't done anything about it.

But this place is a gem. I recommend staying 2 to 3 days." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia; 4n in Zimbabwe; 1n in South Africa

Only comment is that they should offer some of the more classical activities such as sundowners on the property.
