"Taleni Etosha Village review"

2 nights Arrived 2 Aug 2010
"Great location, just outside the park gate if you are unable to stay in the park. it would have been better to stay inside the park to enjoy the evenings at the waterholes (heard reports of 8 rhino plus elephants and lions there in the evening) but the restcamps were all fully booked.

The rooms were comfortable but a bit more privacy for the outside toilet would be appreciated! The shower is also outside - a bit chilly first thing in the morning! There are cooking facilities at each tent and it would have been fun to have used the barbeque but for one night not worth buying all we'd have needed and the food for dinner was excellent anyway. All meals are outside in one of the eating areas - organised in the style of a local village although the male / female eating areas are not enforced!!

Dinner round a huge fire was a self service buffetstyle and had some of the best food we had all holiday. Great choice of salads for starters (everything from avacados to smoked fish / soup etc). The main course was cooked as we waited. Fantastic choice of lean, marinated meat (game, beef, pork and chicken) which was cooked exactly as we wanted with stir fried vegetables, choice of sauces etc. Huge choice of deserts and cheese. There were few people staying but a huge amount of food - all changed for the next night.

We had packed breakfasts one day so we were in the parkas early as possible but had an early breakfast at the camp the next morning - great choice and all wonderfully fresh.

We liked the lawn mower (a zebra) and were sorry we didn't have time to spend at the pool which looked very inviting. Some signs to find our way back to our rooms after dinner would have avoided our night wandering round the entire but equally less wine may have helped!" See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia

2 nights Arrived 29 Apr 2010
"Very well positioned for entry to Etosha Park. Once again excellent and efficient staff. Beautiful swimming pools and loungers to relax on after your early morning start in the park. The buffet on our second night was delicious and the quality was excellent.

The luxury tents were very well laid out to give total privacy and a feeling of isolation, yet within a few minutes walk you were back at the central lodge with all the facilities you need readily available." See all these reviews: 22n in Namibia

"Taleni Etosha Village review"

2 nights Arrived 18 Apr 2010
"Located just outside Etosha a couple of miles from Anderson Gate. Great location in Mopane woodland with each chalet appearing to be on its own.

The food was wonderful as was the service and facilities. Shower and toilet located outside under the stars but a great experience, air conditioning and fans in each tented chalet. We had no problems with mossies or other insects. Fabulous swimming pool and lovely garden area.

Did not take advantage of any activities as we had our own vehicle." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"location, quaity & value = perfect Etosha"

2 nights Arrived 7 Oct 2009
"Only two km from the Anderson Gate = excellent location. Aircon in luxury tents in the bush are comfortable and well kitted out. A real feel of Africa from walking in the bush around the "village". Clean swimming poools inviting after a day in Etosha. Well stocked shop - better than Etosha. Friendly, attentive staff. Patrick particularly helpful. Choice and quality of the buffet dinner is outstanding and the 24 hour tea and coffee is welcome.

Value for money is excellent particularly after Etosha. My tip - stay at Taleni instead of in the park.

During our stay there was a bad fire in Etosha which even threatened Taleni. We felt the fire was badly managed by NWR. It should have been dealt with much more quickly without the ensuing loss of habitat and no doubt loss of life among fauna." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Taleni is new and definitely worth a visit"

2 nights Arrived 31 Jul 2009
"Taleni Etoshi Village has been open for less than a year and not many people have discovered it yet. But it's definitely worth the visit.

Very friendly staff, a nicely designed lodge with excellent food and comfortable walk-in tents on platforms. Everything can be arranged for you - including a tasty packed lunch. Good cocktails at the bar too for a reasonable price." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia; 5n in Botswana
