"Kulala Desert Lodge review"
--> Of the four camps we stayed at in Botswana and Namibia and the restaurants we went to in the non-Safari part of our trip (Swakop, Vic Falls and Cape Town), the food at Kulala was close to the worst. It was the only place that I regularly passed on a dish or ate a fraction of the food. My kids seemed to think it was fine and ate without complaints.
--> We found the guide who took us into Sossusvlei to be fine, but he was fairly disengaged and only offered up any comments when asked specific questions." See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia; 5n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe
"Warm welcome at Kulala Desert Lodge"
"Well located for guided trips to Soussesvlei"
Location only suitable for guided tours to the dunes because Kulala guides have special permit to use a side entrance. Tourists wishing to do a self drive to view dunes would be better off staying near the main entrance or within the park.
Friendly and helpful staff." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Kulala Desert Lodge"
It was very hot (42 C) in the afternoon and we did a late afternoon drive that included a small canyon which was, in our opinion, of not much scenic value or interest. Given the long drive to get there and a long drive to our next destination, the drive around options were not attractive." Wilderness Safaris have had to report this incident to the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET) because if found out, this could get Kulala into serious trouble.
Expert Africa must stress here that no self-drive travellers are allowed to use this private gate.

We went quad-biking with one of the guides in the afternoon which was great fun, enjoying sundowners at sunset." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia
