"Lamai Seregeti - a wonderful place"

4 nights Arrived 16 Sep 2014
"We really enjoyed our stay at Lamai Serengeti - staff and guides were all very helpful. We've been taking safaris for a few years but we still enjoyed new experiences in terms of wildlife sightings.

A particular highlight was witnessing a leopard as it stalked its prey, caught it and took it away to haul it to safety up a nearby tree." See all these reviews: 12n in Tanzania; 1n in Kenya

3 nights Arrived 8 Jul 2014
"Brilliant location high on a kopje looking down on the plains and just the right balance of bush-camp/comfort. Friendly, attentive staff, great guiding and close to the Mara river if wildebeest crossings are your thing but with plenty of resident game too, great food- what's not to like.

We saw the migration in full swing, lion, leopard (mating in broad daylight!!) cheetah and a host of other game and birds" See all these reviews: 10n in Tanzania; 4n in Rwanda

"Lamai Serengeti review"

3 nights Arrived 28 Oct 2013
"What can we say - this camp is simply breath taking in terms of location & construction - how beautifully it blends in with the surroundings and it is all very luxurious in a simple rustic style that is spot on. We first met Rebecca who was extremely helpful & showed us round & we later met the new managers Nick & Yanna (they are a delightful young couple whose company we really enjoyed) and we believe that their passion for Africa & their knowledge will prove to be a real asset to Nomad.

We really enjoyed eating under the stars with the management team & once again the food was absolutely delicious. Our picnic breakfasts were magnificent! and lunch was always light & fresh (perfect in the heat). The canapés prior to dinner were all excellent as were the meals - top marks to the chefs!

The askari were so polite & brave. We felt safe in their company, Puce was always very chatty & charming.

The only potential downside to this camp is that some of the lodges are quite along way from the main area with quite a steep climb and we were definitely affected by the altitude! We were very lucky as our lodge was quite close but just wonder whether clients should be made more aware of this element." See all these reviews: 8n in Tanzania

"Lamai Serengeti review"

3 nights Arrived 2 Sep 2013
"Lamai has a beautiful location and lovely accommodation. Rather surprisingly we had more problems with the shower here than at Dunia. The backup system for heating hot water for our room did not seem to be working so it was a cold shower or none on our first morning there. Hot water later in the day was not a problem once the solar panel had kicked in.

As the rooms are quite spread out we did wonder why Lamai only provided an air horn in the room for contacting staff rather than a two-way radio as at other camps." See all these reviews: 10n in Tanzania; 1n in Kenya

"Great camp and location"

3 nights Arrived 29 Aug 2013
"The camp was wonderful. This area of the park is crawling with tourists. Every time we got near the migration so did 25-30 other cars. Tourists jumped out of their vehicles and scared the animals away. Same with a group of cheetahs where there we so many cars, one cheetah could not get to the kill. Unfortunately, the makes the whole experience about as authentic as Disneyland.

Again, the camp is great, but I would not go again." See all these reviews: 6n in Tanzania

"Lamai Serengeti Feedback"

3 nights Arrived 26 Jul 2013
"This offered a great contrast to Serengeti Camp: from plains to kopje and tent to 'house'. The location and outlook were superb and it was a shame the plains had recently been blackened with burning as not only did this slightly mar the view, I couldn't get my feet clean for a week!

Mark and Chloe were remarkable hosts and it felt like we made almost instant companions despite the brevity of our stay there.

My only slight quibble was the quality of the (bird) guiding. Lovely chap though he was, too often he didn't know what the bird we were looking at was and on one occasion even blamed the poor quality of his binoculars.

Highlights were going out walking one afternoon and encountering two separate pairs of lions, crossing the border into the Masai Mara as part of the ongoing quest for cheetah and twelve elephants traversing the airstrip upon our departure." See all these reviews: 6n in Tanzania
