Fantastic tented experience
Superb tents, slightly shabby chic in feel but worked perfectly with the surroundings and overall style of the camp. Very helpful service and fantastic guide (sorry can't remember his name) - extremely knowledgeable with wonderful ability to anticipate animals' movements and spot things from incredibly long distances. Great open vehicles for game viewing. Very flexible with the timing of game drives.
Other comments: Quite a long drive to the Mara river (about an hour), camp wasn't informed of our dietary requirements so the dinner on the first night had to be changed (we should have been asked in advance). Food was good without being outstanding. On other safaris I have been on we stopped more often for a snack/drink/leg stretcher - on an 8 hour drive we only stopped once.
Overall it was excellent.
I just loved everything! Guides, camp, animals!Read more about the whole safari
Serengeti under Canvas review
Wow! What an experience. We thoroughly loved it here. So unique in terms of experience. The camp was so well devised (ridiculously luxurious camping), the staff so friendly and helpful, the food and wine incredible especially given the location. We were treated to private dinners under the stars, drinks round the campfire and a fantastic birthday singing/dancing performance. The game drives were really good; so many animals and such diversity. Totally brilliant.Read more about the whole safari
Serengeti under Canvas review
There is nothing negative to say about Serengeti Under Canvas. In the middle of this national park, there is this incredible moveable camp - gorgeous, fabulous people, crazy good food.
And Christian, our super butler, impecable!! Loved the campfire in the evening and the cool drink and cloth washcloths upon arriving back from a game drive. Even the burned area next to the camp didn't take away any of the ambiance. Can't wait to stay at another And Beyond camp!
The facilities here were magical.
The service was fantastic, the location breathtaking, and the "tent" was nicer than many hotels I've stayed in.
Brilliant camp 1 and river crossing
Brilliant staff and service. Didas my butler and Baraka the manager are outstanding!
I was fortunate to see and experience 3 river crossings! Great! The warmth and hospitality of staff is very touching! Great singing! Mobile tented camp, but my stay was very comfortable.
Under Canvas casually elegant safari
& Beyond service is impecable. Safari as one imagines right out of a movie set. Linens, crystal and china in a lovely bush location.
Each tent has gorgeous sunrise and sunset views. Private butler tent service providing hot showers, coffee, laundry and just about any other request imaginable. Copper sinks and water vessels and even a flushing toilet in tent! Lovely bath products and personal tent touches. Dao our tent butler thank you for such kind and gentle professional care.
The meals all served under the fabulous Serengeti sky. KK the "Kitchen King" worked magic in his bush kitchen. As a cook I salute him!
Jabir our guide had stiff competition after Klein's Camp delivered the cheetah brothers for us. He tracked and tracked and on day 2 delivered a leopard and on day 3 her cub!! Impressive under pressure and just in time for my 50th birthday! What a present!
Baracka the camp manager does a terrific professional job. We loved his fireside stories. He has the ability to relax his guests.
My 50th birthday party at camp dinner was unbelievable with the entire staff providing the only music I heard in Tanzania. Happy Birthday will never be the same. Thank you All!
As you can see we know this staff by name! These are happy staff that make for happy guests. We may have missed the great migration river crossing by timing and lack of rain but we did not miss one thing in this fantastic end to our dream safari holiday.
Every single person at this camp went Above & Beyond. Best money we ever spent!
Fantastic safari at Serengeti Under Canvas
This was an outstanding camp. We completed a survey at the camp and gave each question a "10" on a 10 point scale. We could think of nothing that was lacking and nothing that needed improvement. It was fantastic!!!
The game drives were outstanding and the rangers were excellent. They were able to tell us not only about the land and the animals but about local customs and experiences. Their english skills were very good. The service was very friendly.
Food and beverage options were excellent. In fact, we may have had the best food and bedding that we ever had on all of our journeys to Africa. At meals, we were able to have a taste of Africa with local foods and seasonings. It was always a joy to join the group in conversation about Africa.
While a bit expensive, we were able to take advantage of an internet offer for 4 nights for the price of 3.
We would strongly recommend this camp to our friends.
