"Particulatly well set-up for families"

2 nights Arrived 13 Nov 2014
"Of all the places we stayed, this was probably our least favourite. This is more a positive reflection on the other lodges rather than a negative assessment of Mushara. The two main things we missed were (1) a view, as we had been hugely spoilt in all of the other places we stayed and (2) qthe level of warmth and service we experienced in other lodges - particularly on check-in. The staff were not unfriendly, but were a little stand-offish and less effusive than elsewhere.

The lodge and the tented rooms are all very stylishly decorated and thoughtfully equipped. However the tent got very hot during our stay (November) which did not make for a comfortable night's sleep, even with the fan that was provided. I would imagine the rooms would have been a lot more comfortable between May - September.

We found the guided game drive into Etosha a bit disappointing compared to other game drives elsewhere as the guide did not seem very engaged or interested in telling us about the wildlife and seemed to prefer chatting with his friends on the radio. Also, due to the distance of the lodge from Namutoni, we lost some time getting to/from the park." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Gateway to Etosha"

2 nights Arrived 1 Nov 2014
"This camp met our needs to explore Etosha and whilst perfectly nice didn't light our fire.

Our tip would be not to bother with a guide because Etosha is totally accessible by self drive and the guide can't take you anywhere that you can't go yourself." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"Mushara Bush Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 30 Oct 2014
"Lovely well-equipped and spacious tent with really comfortable bed, full mosquito net, fan and ensuite bathroom. Nice peaceful location, near to Etosha park, but not particularly scenic in the dry season. The grounds are home to quite tame warthogs, hornbills and squrrels which provided visual amusement and photo opportunities. We didn't take any children but noticed that it seemed particularly well equipped for them with a playground and an indoor play area off the dining room. Staff were lovely and service and food very good. Not totally ideal for someone with mobility difficulties as quite a way from the parking area and tent was some way from the main facilities, but we managed. Fortunately, help was given to transport luggage.from parking area.." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Convenient for Etosha"

2 nights Arrived 17 Oct 2014
"A warm welcome from staff and a comfortable Meru tent, although as we were in room 1, not terribly private. We had other guests taking short cuts and walking by our porch and tent so privacy was nil on some occasions, which spoilt it. We were also just across from the open air restaurant and pool, so did get some noise from that. So best to avoid room 1.

The Mushara morning game drive into Etosha was well organised and all the guides were in radio contact with each other so were able to keep each other informed where all the good sightings were, the lodge also provided a packed breakfast and coffee.

It was a pleasant place to stay and not far from the Namutoni entrance to Etosha. Staff were all very welcoming and helpful but again like Okonjima, no one seemed to know about the Soya milk or to be bothered about it. After our experience with Okonjima we had got tired of repeatedly asking so had given up on it." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia

"Loved everything about this place!"

2 nights Arrived 5 Oct 2014
"Mushara Bush Camp has lovely reception, dining and lounge areas - very stylish and comfortable. The luxury tent was amazing, well appointed and very comfortable. The pool was great with much appreciated cold refreshing water and plenty of loungers both in and out of shade.

Dinner was really good, vegetarian options available and delicious breakfasts - I remember the bread especially. Dinner on the second night was a braai with tables outside, beautifully lit tables and surroundings, and great singing & dancing by the staff - all very memorable.

We booked a morning game drive for one last trip into Etosha and it was just us and the driver - and what a great experience it was seeing lions up close at the first waterhole Chudop, then later at the same one around 40-50 elephants of all sizes drinking, swimming, playing and throwing mud. As our driver Bennie seemed to know most of the other drivers, they let him get in close for a good view. We couldn't have done that in our own car. Excellent coffee & carrot cake back at the camp.

Possibly my only criticism of this place was the thin, cheap pillows but that really is all!" See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Our first 'tent'!"

2 nights Arrived 4 Oct 2014
"Accommodation was in 'tented' chalets - clean and comfortable but no sitting area inside the chalet (chairs on outside terrace). Main central area was lovely. Huge restaurant open on three sides to the gardens with a chance of seeing resident wild-life ( warthog, dikdik).

Excellent food - the first night we had a most enjoyable buffet in the garden, painstakingly set up by the cheerful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Mushara Bush Camp review"

1 night Arrived 3 Oct 2014
"This is a newish camp with an impressive open reception, lounge, dining area and smart, if a little small, well equipped tents.

We only stayed one night and the camp was full which is perhaps why service at dinner was a bit slow but the quality of the food and enthusiastic staff singing and dancing made it well worth the wait." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"Mushara Bush Camp review"

2 nights Arrived 19 Sep 2014
"We enjoyed this camp with a good room which felt as if it was on its own, a very nice main building which was fresh and well maintained, a good location outside the park yet only 10 mins away and excellent service and food. The dinner by the boma fire was particularly good and other food of high quality.

The service was friendly and helpful. The meals were eaten together but at separate tables i.e. not communal like many other camps. Have to watch out for the tree squirrels pinching food. Also had Warthog and Common Duiker and various birds really close on the lawn and heard Lions roaring at night although they are in another concession.

We didn't do any of the activities arranged by Mushara as we drove ourselves into the park on our full day there." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana
