Mushara Bush Camp review
Really enjoyed it here. Reception/restaurant area lovely. Food great.
Friendly service and nice touches such as homemade biscuits in tents as well as tea/coffee and hot water bottles. Very clean. A great stopover or base to enter Etosha from the east gate (although not in the park so wouldn't have the night waterhole experience).
Other than Okaukuejo, some of the best game we saw was at the east Etosha waterholes as we drove through.
Mushara Bush Camp review
A delightful camp. The main building is attractive and open but has tented sides pulled down for evening in winter, which makes it cosy, especially with blankets to put over knees. Food is very good.
Staff are welcoming. Warthogs are often on the lawn and dik-diks can be seen in the grounds.
In winter, the tents can be rather cold at night so a morning shower can be bracing! The beds however are warm and comfortable, with hot water bottles put in before bed.
Mushara Bush Camp review
Only 10 minutes from the Von Linquist Gate. We stayed here as Expert Africa had recently visited Namutomi Camp where we had originally booked and found there to be issues. Following their concerns for our comfort and safety, we were moved to Mushara, less than 2 weeks prior to travelling.
This appears to have been a very good decision - we did pop in to Namutomi to look around and found a real mess of a building site. Mushara was very pleasant - wonderful staff (Vicktoria looked after us extremely well from arrival to check out the next morning), excellent food and good rooms. We would certainly recommend this as a good place to stay on the east side of Etosha.
Mushara Bush Camp
This was just an overnight stop but very pleasant. We were as usual a long way from reception and dinner. Still not a problem.
Dinner was excellent and staff lovely. We had hot water bottles in the beds! A rare treat as it was very cold at night.
Good camp, but away from park gate
Excellent decor in the main area and chalets were clean and well maintained. Very friendly and helpful staff.
For wildlife photographers it would be better to stay within the park as you will get additional viewing time at sunrise and sunset.
Mushara Bush Camp review
More rustic accommodations than we would have liked.

The comfiest bed I have ever slept in! Situated just outside the Von Lindequist gate on the eastern side of Etosha this place was a delight.
The attention to detail, second to none. When we returned from the evening meal we found our bush tent all set up for the night and they had even put hot water bottles in the bed to warm them up. The tents were very clean and equipped with everything you needed and more, including tea and shortbread biscuits!!
We only stayed here as Namutoni was under restoration, but it was truly lovely and very relaxing after a long days drive. Evening drinks were very reasonably priced here. A delight!
A delightful stay at Mushara Bush Camp
We were warmly welcomed by extremely efficient and friendly staff and warthogs on the lawn! The reception area and restaurant is a large, open and attractive area and there is a well stocked tourist shop with a rather wider selection of nice goods than is usual.
The food was very good and the staff charming.
The tented rooms were spread out in the bush behind the lodge. We had everything we needed and we liked this camp enormously. We would have been happy to stay longer and have no hesitation in recommending Mushara.
Mushara is close to the East side of Etosha and the park is easily accessible.
Mushara - a haven
