"Luxurious room. Fantastic garden."
The evening meal on the first night was a barbecue. The chef introduced the menu but it was difficult to hear/understand him. It also wasn't clear whether the soup and the salads were alternatives or separate courses. Further, when we went up to be served with the freshly BBQ'd meat, you had to hold your plate over the grill and it was hard not to get your hands burned. The food itself was delicious, as it was on the second night.
It was lovely to be awoken by the birds who lived in the woods behind our room and to see dik diks on our way to breakfast, not to mention the little family of warthogs who wandered into the garden. Absolutely charming!
The location was great for access to the eastern side of Etosha where we spent another marvellous day." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
"Our first visit"
.i went with one of their guides into Etosha ,and was lucky to see a male leopard a caracal and couple of bat eared foxes, which we wouldn't have spotted on our own. James went on a bush walk, he saw a herd of wildebeest and heard a lion calling." See all these reviews: 27n in Namibia
"Mushara Lodge, Edge of Etosha"
Mushara was our 2nd lodge from where we went on safari. After quite a long drive we were welcomed with a cool drink and hot towel before being shown to our beautiful rooms. After settling in, we went for dinner which was excellent, and soon after our deserts, all the staff emerged from the kitchen singing. They proceeded to sing a number of songs, very tunefully and really had fun doing so, much to the enjoyment of all the diners.
Having had a busy few days, we decided that we would have a relaxing morning at Mushara and then head out on one of their tours in the afternoon. It was very relaxing sitting in the grounds by the pool, and amusing to watch the ground squirrels chasing each other around.
After lunch we boarded one of the trucks and headed the 10km into Etosha. Before long we arrived at the first waterhole and were delighted to find a herd of 25 elephants along with giraffe and other animals. Driving round the waterhole we parked up by the track the elephants headed down so they passed us only a few metres away. We then headed off to other water holes and saw lots of other animals including a rhino. One of the advantages of going with a guide is that they are in contact with other guides and before long, we were directed to a cheetah resting under a tree. Our guide was also very knowledgeable about the animals and birds and was able to answer our questions.
The dinner on the second night was again good and the following morning we were sorry to be leaving Mushara, but eager to head to Okaukuejo Camp via a day's journey through the Etosha national park." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

The service was chaotic with no-one apparently in overall charge especially at mealtimes.eg having been asked when we wanted breakfast when we arrived there was no table for us, not being asked preferance for food at breakfast and the buffet arrangement such that you had difficulty getting to the food. Also the bar bills etc had to be signed for at the end of evening meal, which meant you had to wait for them to be produced rather than leaving when we were ready. This seemed to be for the convenience of the staff not the guests." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia
