"Mushara Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 16 Jun 2011
"What a lovely place. Unfortunately only 4 of us the first night and just the 2 of us on the second. We enjoyed talking to the staff tho' who looked after us very well. Our room was absolutely lovely as was the food. This is a lovely spacious lodge with very comfortable furniture throughout. Beautifully decorated." See all these reviews: 25n in Namibia

"Mushara Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 15 Aug 2010
"Mushara had to be the most luxurious of all our stays. As there were 4 of us (including 2 teenagers), we were in a purpose-built unit at the entrance - extremely roomy with 2 large bedrooms & showers, bath and own garden and verandah, and - luxury - a large television and DVD player (with soem DVD's), together with tea and coffee making facilities and large mini-bar.

The welcoming staff were just that - relaxed and friendly, and as at Damaraland, not averse to bursting into song upon occasion (there was a birthday that evening).

First impressions were of an ex-colonial style hotel - possibly because of the zebra skin in reception, and the light airy lobby area.

Look out for small deer and Kudu in the grounds along the driveway, particularly at dusk/morning - but maybe best not to go out alone after dark as apparently predators have been known to pass through the area..." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"A warm welcome at Mushara Lodge"

2 nights Arrived 5 Aug 2010
"We had a warm welcome from Erica who greeted us when we arrived and served dinner in the restaurant on our first night.

We were very happy with our rooms. I have an irrational fear of spiders and I was a bit worried about staying in a lodge with a thatched roof - but I didn't see a single one!

The food was good.

We saw kudu and impala wandering around in the grounds outside our lodge, which was lovely. This was a relaxing and comfortable base from which to explore the eastern end of Etosha." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Mushara Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 20 May 2010
"This was very personal and luxurious, and we spent some of one day just sitting on our verandah relaxing it was so quiet.

The food was very good as was the service, and the wildlife often wander into the area - warthogs join residents by the pool and a small deer was found gazing into my bathroom window one day!

We went on one of the drives with Imelda one of their guides. She found us more wildlife and taught us more about Etosha in all the time we had driven through the park.

The drives are good value - cheaper than those in Etosha and include your entrance fee." See all these reviews: 17n in Namibia

"A bit of luxury"

2 nights Arrived 6 Sep 2009
"We were made very welcome, everything was explained and then we were taken to our chalet. Our room was very spacious with a veranda to sit out on in comfort at the end of the day. Facilities included a mini bar and tea making facilities with little biscuits.

The evening meals were very good and the breakfast was again excellent with good choice. The only problem was that the clocks had gone forward and we didn't realise which meant we were late to dinner and breakfast, but they didn't mind and just laughed it off (lovely natured staff).

There was a wonderful swimming pool (and we did indulge here), nice sun loungers, sun shades and towels provided, wart hogs on the lawn, ground squirrels running around and Kudus roaming around. Super stay." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Mushara Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 17 Aug 2009
"This was conveniently located just outside the east gate of Etosha. When we saw our "room" we couldn't believe it! We had a whole house with two separate bedrooms, three bathrooms and an enormous lounge all to ourselves!

The staff here were all very friendly and welcoming, although meal service was rather slow and the English Christmas carols accompanying supper were a little out of place!.

We enjoyed the pool and it was nice to have warthogs and kudu wandering round the garden." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia

"Lovely quiet relaxing place."

2 nights Arrived 28 May 2009
"Just outside the east of Etosha, we were here for two nights. We just relaxed having had our fill of game drives by now inc. having self-driven through Etosha. A lovely place in the woods really, well into its own reserve, attractive semi-wild gardens and good sized swimming pool.

Surprised to find a mother and two young warthogs cropping the lawn for an hour or more just next to the main verandah where we ate. An abundance of small squirrels consider the grounds are as much for them as for the guests. Friendly staff who performed some local songs at the end of dinner. Large ensuite bedrooms."
