The meandering Rufiji River lies at the heart of Nyerere National Park

It forms a complex network of channels, lakes and swamps.

It is a great place for game viewing...

...as well as admiring the beautiful scenery.

Wild dogs can be spotted...

...and also herds of elephant.

Nyerere National Park also has an extraordinary birdlife...

...with over 440 species.

...and elephants as they come down to the river.

Nyerere National Park is worth a visit.

"Tanzania"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 8 Oct 2011 and 21 Oct 2011
"The safari element of the holiday was great and with only the problem of the delay with the plane at the start - out of Expert Africa's control - to take the edge of a really good experience. Beho beho was excellent.

Matemwe bungalows were a little disappointing - not as smart as it looked! The location wasn't great as it has a beach with a reef and for most of the day you cannot swim - it would have been nice to have had a beach in the resort so you could walk in for a swim - this is probably the same for all of the resorts on the east coast. Maybe this is common knowledge but not to us.

"Great experience marred by personal injury"

I visited Mozambique and 1 other country between 6 Oct 2011 and 23 Oct 2011
"The trip itself was fantastic. Maybe we should have stayed an extra night in the selous in order to stay at a different camp. The selous safari camp was the only one to offer single night accomodation.

We found the advice and assistance of Ellie in planning our holiday most helpful and informative. She was also very patient with us!

"A truly unforgettable start to married life!"

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 20 Sep 2011 and 2 Oct 2011
"From start to finish, we could never of imagined our trip would haver been this good.
Planning our trip was a joy. We felt as though we were given all the information we could of needed. We were never pushed towards any particular lodge or hotel and were given the time to make our own decisions without being bombarded with emails or phone calls.

Our trip was extremely organised. We were never left waiting or confused. The ground agents were again brilliant. Eco & Culture are a great company. Our tranfers were always on time and their staff were all very knowledgeable. We also booked a couple of trips directly with them which were again very well organised.

We felt every lodge or hotel we stayed at were perfect for us." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zanzibar holiday

I visited Tanzania between 17 Sep 2011 and 2 Oct 2011
"We always knew that we might have to compromise a bit due to the short notice to arrange this trip. However, Liz was extremely helpful and worked hard to match our requirements with the locations and camps. She did flag up the dinning arrangements at Impala and her reservations proved to be correct. Although we would not return there, we still enjoyed our stay and that arrangement obviously works well for other people.

Our itinerary was in exactly the right order, starting with the most 'authentic' camp and working up in quality to finish with Beho Beho. We would really have struggled if we'd gone there first and then moved on to the other camps.

This is our 4th or 5th holiday with Expert Africa and we will keep coming back because of the quality of service and knowledge of the locations.
Thank you all." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 14 on a Tanzania safari

I visited Zanzibar and 1 other country between 13 Sep 2011 and 27 Sep 2011
"We were pleased we took the advice of Expert Africa to visit the much less busy game reserves in Southern Tanzania - perfect for us having previously had uncrowded game viewing experiences in S. Africa.

We had very good game viewing, with excellent guides, in both Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National Park. The landscapes and vegetation were quite different leading to varied experiences - in Selous it was great to see the crocs, hippos and huge variety of birds round the lake as well as the animals in the bush, whilst in Ruaha we saw larger herds of buffalo and elephants seeking water.

All in all we had a great holiday." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zanzibar holiday
