Everything was very well put together and would definitely highly recommend this group to other travelers." See all these reviews: 6n in Tanzania
"Nomad camp...just perfect"
We arrived hot and tired after our transfer, the Tsetse flies had been biting us on the way but seeing a herd of elephants as we left the airfield together with a hot shower and cold drink soon revived us. The relaxed family dining table was brilliant, a great time to catch up on everyone's adventures and sighting's plus some intelligent and interesting conversation. Once again the international groups made this a first class atmosphere, we had groups from USA, UK and Belgium whilst we were there and it was family friendly as well. The teenagers made friends and played board games before dinner whilst the adults indulged in one more "gintonic" and great wines around the campfire.
Our guide was very professional and we were very lucky to see everything we had hoped for including a river crossing. We found that the option of a long day was better than two shorter game drives as the camp was about 30 to 40 minutes drive from the main Game activity. As this was pour fist Safari I was concerned that we wouldn't make the right choices, but at Nomad I absolutely know that we got it just right. Even the hyenas howling at the starry sky outside the tent couldn't stop me sleeping like a baby." See all these reviews: 7n in Tanzania; 7n in Zanzibar
"Nomad Serengeti Safari Camp review"
Babu Tryphon and his assistant looked after our every need when we were in the mess tent. All the staff were really nice. Laundry service was very good and very fast.
Excellent location - we saw lots of animals and were right in the middle of the migration with a fantastic view from the dining tent." See all these reviews: 7n in Tanzania; 4n in Zanzibar; 1n in Kenya
"Excellent safari at Nomad Serengeti Camp"
The move resulted in a long transfer / extended game drive of some 6 hours, leaving us pretty whacked out following such an early departure from Kigali that morning - we didn't get to camp much before 4:30pm so weren't in much of a state for any evening activity save for a sundowner.
The rest of the time was, however, fantastic. All clients enjoyed the sole use of a private safari 4x4 and guide, which was just what we wanted and made the whole experience more rewarding. The staff were among the best we have experienced and the level of service and food quality, given the mobile nature of the camp and its support, were exemplary.
The camps are relayed between sites - the next passed us wrapped up in the back of three trucks one afternoon - but from the quality of the fixtures and the time taken in presentation, the tents and recreational areas would rival many permanent sites. You just can't beat a hot bucket shower at the end of a packed game drive. It felt like, indeed was, an authentic bush camp. A top experience." Hence the camp’s managers decided, at very short notice, to move this camp further north, in order to get closer to the herds of the migration, which had moved far to the north of the camp’s original site.
We were only told of this a few days before these travellers arrived in the Serengeti and so, unfortunately, we were unable to change their flights into the park. So they landed at an airstrip near to the camp’s original site, and had a longer drive than originally planned to reach the camp’s new location. That’s why they were understandably tired on arrival!
