"Good trips on the Chobe and Zambezi"

2 nights Arrived 18 Sep 2012
"Excellent boat trips and bird spotting opportunities.

Some confusion over free house wine and paid for 'chosen' wine, which resulted in an unexpected bill. Probably would not have occurred if Peter and Anna (managers) had not gone away for the day on business and then got stranded away from the island. In the end not a problem" See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana

"Impalila Island Lodge review"

3 nights Arrived 16 Jan 2012
"The journey to get to the lodge is interesting. Lots of borders to cross and paperwork to go through. I do think we might have been warned about the trek to the immigration office on the island itself. It is a tortuous, rocky road uphill for about 500 metres. Not at all pleasant, easier coming down of course.

Staff at the lodge are brilliant, they all seem to have been there a long time and they love their jobs.

Nothing was too much trouble and we really enjoyed the boat trips." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"Impalila Island Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 13 Aug 2010
"Impalila is an adventure to get to, with many border crossings between Namibia and Botswana and a transfer by speed boat.

Just from our starting point to the lodge we saw more animals than on many a game drive... We had a great guide (Charles), but all other staff were just wonderful too." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 1n in Zambia

"Impalila Island Lodge review"

3 nights Arrived 16 Oct 2008
"We have stayed at Impalila on several previous occasions but not since 2004. We had a personal reason for going there this year and the staff at Impalila could not have done more to help us with our project.

David caught the two largest tiger fish of his life which impressed a group on a fly fishing trip." See all these reviews: 6n in Zambia; 5n in Namibia

"Impalila Island Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 25 Aug 2008
"We only stayed one night in Impalila. The location of the lodge, setup with the baobab and rooms are amazing, very quiet and intimate.

We did a boat evening cruise to Chobe which was very nice - even so it's quite far to get there so we spend less time with the animals compared to a classic 4x4 safari. However we had great sightings of elephants in the water from the boat.

We did a very original walking "safari" to see a very old baobab which was refreshing. The standard of guiding was OK but not as high as other lodges, in particular we found our guide not as enthusiastic as we've seen elsewhere." See all these reviews: 9n in Botswana; 1n in Namibia
