"Fantastic Safari at Luangwa Safari House"

3 nights Arrived 27 Mar 2014
"What a fabulous place!!! The house is beautiful, the staff friendly, efficient and great with children. The location was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about Luangwa Safari House and Jacob, our guide.

Jacob loves his job, and knows the park extremely well. He is uncannily good at tracking animals: we were able to find 4 leopards and a pack of painted dogs while in the park. He really listened to us and worked to help us achieve the experience we wanted. He is great with young children and seems to really enjoy them.

The chef was very good as well and catered to my daughter's allergies (wheat, corn, soy) quite creatively and ably. My daughter never felt left out at meals and that can be a challenge. The food was fresh, tasty and well presented." See all these reviews: 6n in Zambia

"Luangwa Safari Lodge - AMAZING!"

4 nights Arrived 1 Dec 2010
"Shortly before we left the UK we were offered a complimentary "up-grade" from Nkwali to the Lodge, which we were delighted to accept!! What an amazing experience! Words failed us as we arrived at the Lodge - it is stunning from an architectural point of view, and the way it is laid out overlooking the water hole makes it hard for you to tear yourself away for a walk/game drive! The elephant were there to greet us on arrival and they seemed to appear whenever we did!

Once again, the people who looked after us were wonderful and could not have been more helpful nor more charming company. A huge amount of thought and effort went into making my birthday incredibly special (surprise picnic brunch at the end of the morning walk - everything transported to a lovely spot by a water hole), birthday tea (with iced cake) and special performance by a local theatre group at Nkwali, drive with champagne sundowners, then a delicious dinner!

There seemed to be someone present to anticipate anything we might want at any time - a really amazing place to stay - nothing seemed to be too much trouble!" See all these reviews: 7n in Zambia

"Luangwa Safari House review"

3 nights Arrived 20 Sep 2009
"By contrast [Ed: to the mobile safari that started this trip] LSH represented absolute luxury!

Lucinda and the house staff really made us feel that this was our home for the duration of our stay. They left nothing wanting. The facility itself was delightful - the views of game from the deck were excellent and the dipping pool was enjoyed by all.

Jacob, our guide, was gracious, knowledgable, great company and an incredible asset for RPS. After 10 days of safari we found his tour of a local village most valuable. Being enveloped in luxury it was a healthy reminder that 90% of the Population lives on less than $2 per day.

We have no recommendations on how this experience could be improved." See all these reviews: 10n in Zambia

"Luangwa Safari House review"

3 nights Arrived 18 Oct 2008
"Most amazing, fantastic accommodation. Loved the architecture of the house - luxurious but authentic in style and feel. Had the house to ourselves which was great so if boys wanted to have a swim during the quiet time we were not disturbing anyone alse - except the hundreds of elephants who came to wallow in the mud at the end of the walkway! Plunge pool was a great delight to the boys. Having lunch watching these elephants interact was a definite highlight.

Staff were fabulous. Jacob as guide was wonderful and after 5 days was a real friend to us. Jacob our waiter was equally great and we had many informative talks with him over dinner. The boys would go to bed immediately after dinner and Lawrence and I would chat to Jacob well into the night about his family, the animals, Zambian politics, education.....We learnt so much from Jacob about his country. He was warm, courteous, gracious and an excellent waiter!

We never got to meet the kitchen staff but the food was always to an incredibly high standard. Did question the role of Emma. Did we really need an English hostess? Although friendly and helpful she probably didnt add much to the smooth running of the house that Jacob (or equivalent) couldnt have provided. We definitely preferred chatting to the local Zambian folk over tea or dinner.

Game drives were excellent. Saw and learnt a lot from Jacob. He was first class." See all these reviews: 10n in Zambia
