"Getting to the lodge from the main tarred road takes forever especially after an already long drive and getting back the following morning was even harder as they only signpost one way!

The location by the river is lovely but the rooms have definitely seen better days and the electricity goes off in the evenings so no fans. The food was good but one night was enough.

Highlight of the visit was picking up petrol in the completely chaotic garage in Rundu!" See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana; 3n in Zimbabwe

"Very interested in the work the owners at Nkwazi are doing in the local village as we (our town) are involved with a village in the Gambia doing very similar things. This is the first time we have seen such involvment on any of our trips." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana

"Nkwazi Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 29 Sep 2013
"Its lucky we were only here one night. No electricity - just as Chris tried to warn us in his guide book. What he didn't tell us is that no electricity meant no hot water (pumped solar) and that they only suplly two oil lamps in the night to light what is a pretty big room.

The owner and son are not the friendliest of people and the staff seem to have had little training. They have six horses who roam around and keep the grass around the chalets short - however they also leave their calling card behind so walking to the dining room is a bit of an adventure." "Nkwazi Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 21 Aug 2013
"This is a lovely lodge in terms of rooms and particularly location looking over the river and seeing a bit of rural African life. The birds around are fantastic and our children enjoyed the pool. We didn't do any trips here but they offer a boat cruise which I imagine would be nice.

This was however unfortunately the only lodge in our entire trip in which we would hesitate to recommend and sadly it is all due to 1 member of staff. The one particular waitress/assistant was sullen to the point of being rude throughout our stay despite the fact we were the only guests in the lodge and we generally felt quite uncomfortable because of this.

The barman was great though." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Experience in such 'open' accommodation somewhat marred by strong winds and thunderstorms throughout the night. Mosquito nets near end of useful life!

"A lovely setting by the river. The only activity which we had time to do was the sunset cruise. This was an enjoyable experience.

Again excellent meals. We did feel that once off the main track it would have been helpful if there had been a few more signs particularly where tracks converged." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia
