"Fantastic start to our honeymoon"

5 nights Arrived 30 Oct 2007
"We both really enjoyed our stay at Nkwali Camp we felt it was a great way to start our honeymoon and a great experience of safari.

Our rooms were really nice and spacious and we had a fantastic view. The food was varied and delicious and the camp took consideration of our food preferences in advance. Nikwali Camp had a really welcoming atmosphere and we felt very at home. Our experiences of both day and evening drives was excellent, our guides were helpful, patient and explained so much.

We had the opportunity to tailor some of our activities which we enjoyed. Brendan acted as our guide for the most part and made us feel very at home and took the time to explain everything we encountered which greatly aided our appreciation of the area and the wildlife." "First day in Zambia at Nkwali"

3 nights Arrived 22 Sep 2007
"We only spent one night at the camp so it was difficult to make any generalisations, but the service, food, accommodation and friendliness of the staff all came up to our expectations.

The Safari House far exceeded our idea of what it would be like & we'll probably never stay anywhere as luxurious again!" See all these reviews: 12n in Zambia

"Nkwali - review"

3 nights Arrived 18 Sep 2007
"We loved Nkwali - the location is spectacular and the staff are all so helpful, attentive, kind and good fun. This was our first trip to anywhere in Africa and they did so much not only to make it positively memorable but also to make us want to come back!

The accommodation was roomy and comfortable and was everything we could have wished for. The drives were fantastic, with our guide, Brendan, doing everything to ensure that we got the best possible opportunities to see and experience all that was available. We had a ball!

We spent one lovely afternoon in the pool, which added to the feeling of restfulness pervading the whole place. How they achieve this in such a busy schedule is amazing - but we never felt rushed or pressured - the sense of humour of all the staff and commitment to the visitors makes it all such a pleasure." "A nice camp"

1 night Arrived 18 Sep 2007
"only had one night here. The camp and accommodation is beautiful although having come from nsefu sector first it felt very much like your back to civilisation - Much more traffic as it is nearer park gate, overhead power lines and man made road surfaces/bridges.

In retrospect I think one night is too short a stay in any one camp although appreciate it was closer to the airport for flight the next morning." See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia

"Smooth operation all round"

4 nights Arrived 13 Sep 2007
"This was a return visit to Nkwali for us as we had been in Novemeber 2005. The work that had been done to the bathrooms was worthwhile and the overall accommodation was more spacious than Nsefu.

Fiona looked after my dietary requirements very well throughout our stay.

Although we didn't see quite as much game as we had at Nsefu, the all day picnic with Joseph was superb.

We didn't have the same guide each day like we had at Nsefu, which wasn't a problem - just not as easy to build a realtionship with anyone." See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia; 4n in Malawi

"Great experience and luxury at Robins House"

4 nights Arrived 13 Sep 2007
"We were upgraded to Robins House due to lack of availability at Nkwali camp but really enjoyed the privacy and attention given at Robins House. It was also an unexpected luxury to have a swimming pool - very unusual for a safari camp.

We were very well looked after by Terry and Ali, and the food was very good. Obi was a very knowledgable guide who grew on us over the time we were there. I really like the spotting tick lists for birds and mammals provided by Robin Pope. The postcards are also a great idea but the time taken for them to be posted and delivered actually means that it's a little pointless.

One downside to Nkwali is that because it is outside the National Park, it takes a while to get to where most of the animals are, and it takes some time to get back. I also thought the drives were a little short. I would have preferred to stay out a bit later in the morning (we were usually back at Robins House by about 10.30am) and to have gone out earlier for the evening drive (we didn't usually leave until gone 4pm so had around 6 hours of dead time)." "3 nights wasn't long enough! So sad to leave"

3 nights Arrived 3 Aug 2007
"All the staff were fab - we got on so well with Fiona, Kiki and Brendan. We were very lucky to have Brendan just to ourselves on the walks which was wonderful- his knowledge was so impressive. Fiona was a great hostess- so easy to talk to and very good at keeping the converstaion flowing at dinner. We wish we had been able to record Kiki's laugh- so infectious!

Thanks Fiona for organising a great surprise bush dinner whcih we enjoyed immensely.

Accomodation was great- we even liked the family of 13 tree frogs living behind our bathroom mirror!

We were lucky enough to see a play performed by a local theatre group who came to the camp. Their improvisation and singing were excellent. Real Royal Shakespeare Company standard!" See all these reviews: 13n in Zambia
