"My Jun 2014 trip"
The only wrinkle was that we were doing Namibia and Botswana, so we worked with two different team members at EA who had experience in each country in the earlier phases of trip planning (good), but neither of them seemed to take responsibility for the overall trip (the wrinkle) until we asked them to figure it out and put one person in charge of pushing things forward." It was good to be able to leave some bags in the Wilderness Safari office in Windhoek, where we received a great welcome and good service." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 10 on a Namibia trip
"Our first trip to Africa and Namibia"
Probably the biggest challenge was driving on the "wrong" side of the road, shifting with my left hand, and turning on the windshield wipers instead of the turn signal! Most roads we traveled were paved and the gravel roads in the park were in good shape. Road signs, billboards, etc. are all in English. We traveled about 500 miles and driving yourself is easy. I highly recommend taking a car GPS and downloading the Tracks4Africa GPS map of Namibia (about $14.00 US). It was invaluable in getting around and knowing your arrival time at various destinations.
One issue was not having the most common power adapter. I had 3 sets, each with two adapters that "worked" in Africa. Although we could normally find one outlet that worked, none of the sets included the adapter that was most common. I think we needed a Type M (3 round pins in a triangular configuration).
We went to Africa prepared for the inevitable problems that we heard are common. However, we were very surprised and pleased with how smoothly everything went, especially considering that we stayed in 6 different places. Africa is a great place to visit and I plan to go back in the next few years." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 5 on a Namibia trip
"Expert Africa made this a trip to remember!"
Since our return, Sabina has been quick to help resolve a couple of minor issues.
We are delighted with the quality of service provided by Expert Africa and their staff and are more than happy to recommend them to anyone making their first visit to Namibia.
We found the Bradt guides to be very informative and accurate - there was not much we wanted to know that was not contained within their pages. By the way, contrary to advice given, $200 notes were accepted everywhere!

"Our May 2014 trip"
Distances longer than expected - along very poor roads in many instances. Would have been useful to know which were gravel or tarmac. Some roads very bad for our VW Polo car. Thus very long journeys- yes I know it's Africa! Not sure whether a larger car would have helped but fellow travellers thought so
Nice and friendly Namibians. Very clean and comfortable accommodations everywhere.
Petrol very cheap!" Read full review: 16 nights in Africa; 14 on a Namibia trip

"Drive via SA/ Namiba/Botswana/Victoria Falls"
You are quite right, this was exciting but not intrepid! We felt that the organisation by Expert Africa was outstanding. We feared we might be out of our comfort zone but the attention to detail and full pre-trip information helped us overcome any concerns we had.
All in all we had a truly outstanding exciting and memorable trip. Thank you so much for all your hard work.

"Amazing trip in an magnificent country"
For our last night, we changed our pre booked plans and stayed in the Olive Exclusive hotel in Windhoek. Thoroughly recommended. It is part of the group that owns Erongo and has a guest house next door, and we would consider booking the latter next time.
It is huge country with very friendly people and the only question is which places do we visit next year? (I believe my wife has already decided that!!). Nearly forgot: kayaking with the wild seals in Walvis Bay was one of the highlights. Jeanne was a fantastic guide here and we had a wonderful morning. She was most kind enough to email us photos and a video. Overall: Thank you very much." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 11 on a Namibia trip

"Amazing Trip"
The team member who dealt with most of our trip was Gwynneth -- who I know is no longer working at Expert Africa -- but she deserves recognition for all her efforts. I am evaluating Gwynneth below, even though I have to choose a different team member from the drop-down menu" Read full review: 19 nights in Africa; 9 on a Namibia trip
