"Chikoko Tree Camp review"
Though no fault of anyone, even knowing ther limitations of wildlife encounters while walking, not as much wildlife encountered as I expected" See all these reviews: 12n in Zambia
"Chikoko camp - our favourite"
Stephen is a first rate walking guide and Batwell is a first rate scout. I doubt we'd have seen the 3 leopards on foot without their sharp ears and eyes. And we saw an astonishing amount of game on the very windy morning, including Eland, which we've never seen before. We couldn't believe it could be even better than the last time (Chikoko was our first camp last time and it was our first visit to Zambia and Africa).
The staff and food are really great here too as they were at Mwaleshi. Just like Mwaleshi its a great mix of total relaxation and completely consuming interest in the wildlife and countryside - I think the countryside at Chikoko has a slight edge for us. For us I can't imagine a camp that would suit us better." See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia
"Lovey bushcamp"
"Chikoko Tree Camp review"
We were privilged to hear the "oomph" of a Pel's Fishing Owl here one night.
We liked the water bottle holders that were provided - very useful when walking light.
Food was excellent.
The accommodation is very impressive." See all these reviews: 10n in Zambia
"Chikoko"
Beautiful location. On the night I was there, we could actually see stars reflected in the water." See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia
"Chikoko Tree Camp review"
The Guide who escorted us was extremely competent and very knowledgeable. We especially appreciated the Tea Porter who accompanied us, after a couple of hours walking in the hot and dry bush a cup of tea and a piece of cake takes on a totally different meaning.
On one of the nights at Chikoko and for both of the nights at Crocodile we were the only guests and the poor Guide had sole responsibility for amusing us during meal times. It may have been a cultural thing but he seemed loath to ask us questions so the conversation was somewhat one sided and it must have seemed like we were grilling him. Could I suggest at times like these a professional host might be put to good use." See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia; 8n in Zanzibar

"Excellent safari at Chikoko"
But tented rooms, even with "double skin" roofs, very hot" See all these reviews: 14n in Zambia

We had many close encounters with animals throughout the trip but felt we also got a rounded experience of the whole ecology of the South Luangwa.
Enjoyed two afternoons doing watercolours (provided at the camps).
The camps provided access on foot to some different terrains. Amazing that despite no road access they could serve up such high class meals and service." See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia
