Walking at Mupamadzi
What an experience!
The camps were brilliantly organised and nothing was too much trouble. Alfred and the team produced wonderful food. Shanon and the other staff worked tirelessly to dismantle camp and re-erect it at the next site (3 in all) ready for lunch after our morning walk. The evning walk and sundowners were magical and there was always hot water ready for showers before supper.
The guiding (from Kanga, with Yona as scout) was execellent and we learned a great deal about lots of little things - from animal dung to the nesting habits of a praying mantis. Game sightings were also very good, although the animals here are less used to vehicles than near the Luangwa.
All in all, a wonderful safari.

This was a fabulous experience with an excellent guide and supporting staff who really catered for one of the client's (not us) dietary requirements with utmost patience.Read more about the whole safari
This was the second time for me and it was just as exciting as the first. Great guides to look after you in the open bush, never felt in any danger in spite of being very close to Lions with kills.
Amazing food, great safari tents and hot showers.
It was just so perfect. Loved it.
Experience of a lifetime
A great overall experience.
Our guide (Jason) was amazing in his knowledge of all aspects of the local ecology ,from ants to elephants, flowers to constellations. Also what was going on in the rest of the world.I cannot speak to highly of him.
Our park ranger Yona who along with Jason

Just what I was looking for on mobile safari
The walking safari was just what I was looking for.
Great group of trekkers, and a super staff. Our camp manager was a very friendly, efficient young Zambian woman who got along famously with all of us. Excellent food, excellent service, great time in the bush. I'd like to find something for them to improve upon, but I can't - they've obviously been doing this a long time, and know how to make the mobile safari work.
Had a fantastic time.
An unique experience discovering the bush
Being away from noise and civilisation is a real experience. Discovering nature and behavior of animals are a challenge on walking tours.
We had a very pleasant and competent guide, Jasen Alfonsi assisted by Geoffrey.
Walking safari in South Luangua
We really, really enjoyed this experience and would like to do it all over again starting tomorrow!
Our guide, Bertram, was outstanding. The whole team of staff worked hard and well together to deliver a very high quality of service. The set-up, tents and positioning of the camps was perfect and the quality of the food was exceptional - more so because they produced an entirely wheat free menu including cakes baked in the earth oven!
On balance, we would have preferred to have walked a bit further each day and not to have been picked up in the jeep after sun-downers each evening (ie to have ended the evening walks in the camps).
The drive to the walking area on the first day was the least enjoyable bit of the whole experience but this should be read in context of us having had a wonderful overall experience: 4 hours in an enclosed vehicle with a choice of sweltering with windows closed (aircon not working) or attack from numerous tsetses coming in the windows.

Excellent guiding and hospitality - food beyond belief!
Viewing the wildlife on foot.
The entire experience as outstanding. The camps were run with an efficiency that is hard to imagine anywhere especially in the bush.
Our guide Jason was not only knowledgeable about the area he was genuinely interesting to talk with on any number of subjects. The tea bearer Jonathan was also a great addition to the experience. Clair the hostess and the entire staff of the mobile safari were great. The bread made in a pit oven was to die for.
Lots of diverse and wonderful views of a multitude of different wildlife.
Robin Pope Safaris walking safari mobile camp review
This was a great experience and the guide, Jason Alfonsi, was truly excellent. Incredibly knowledgeable about all flora and fauna but also very interesting on the wider and more philosophical aspects of reserve and park management.
The sites for camping were well chosen and the facilities adequate. The food, prepared in a "hole in the ground" camp oven was excellent throughout. The staff were all friendly and helpful and good company.
One minor criticism of the tents. Lighting them by a single candle is inadequate. Battery operated lanterns are not expensive and would have made so much difference
