Black-footed Cat Safari

Combine three of southern Africa's most iconic destinations in this exciting and varied safari. Discover the world's oldest desert in Namibia, seek iconic wildlife in Botswana and gaze in wonder at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

Black-footed Cat Safari: Summary

Black-footed Cat Safari in a nutshell

Starting your adventure in Namibia, you'll begin with a night in Windhoek before driving into the great Namib Desert. At 55 million years old the sand sea makes for an otherworldly landscape that’s home to some of the world's tallest dunes. Your luxurious base for three-nights is Sossuvlei Desert Lodge in the picturesque NamibRand, a gold tier International Dark Night Sky Reserve that looks up at an unforgettably clear night sky.

Heading back to Windhoek you'll enjoy two night on the Zannier Reserve, just outside the city. The reserve is home to a surprising variety of wildlife including white rhino and lion, but the star of the show is the lodge itself, Omaanda, a chic spot with fabulous cuisine and an opulent spa.

Leaving Namibia behind you'll swap the car for a light aircraft and fly into Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Here you'll spend your days exploring by 4WD, mokoro canoe and boat, with an expert guide. By combining two of the Delta's best camps – the intimate Little Vumbura and architectural marvel that is Sandibe – you'll be immersed in some of the richest wildlife watching in Africa alongside expert guides.

The final stop on your trip is the spectacular "smoke that thunders", Victoria Falls. Spend the last days of your holiday relaxing at Ilala Lodge or fill your time with a selection of the vast array of activities on offer. For whitewater rafting and scenic helicopter flight over the falls to sundowner cruises on the Zambezi and afternoon tea, there really is something for everyone.

The camp is surrounded by water, both permanent deep channels and seasonal shallower floodplains, with access to good tracts of dry open plains, woodland and riverine forests. It's an interesting reserve, which has a particularly diverse set of environments within easy reach of the camp, as well as a high density of game.
