"Nice friendly location. Most of the time we were outside and have taken the full day trip to Sandwich harbour.

The hosts have helped us to find place to eat, although the choice of Lighthouse wasn't too good." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Sandfields Guesthouse review"

2 nights Arrived 23 May 2014
"Very nice hosts, very comfortable place.

They have fireplaces in each room which felt really cozy. They booked dinners for us in town at a couple of great restaurants. It was a great place to relax and enjoy Swakopmund.

We did a day trip to Sandwich Harbor which is also highly recommended.

These travellers comments about their day trip:

This was a really fun day! Our guide was Len, who was very knowledgable about the local wildlife. We were not able to enter Sandwich harbor itself because of the tide schedule - so if you are trying to do that, you should look up a tide table first. But we still had a great day cruising around in the dunes and searching for wildlife, and learning about the local ecosystem." See all these reviews: 6n in Namibia

"Sandfields Guesthouse-Great Spot"

2 nights Arrived 27 Sep 2013
"We so enjoyed our stay at Sandfields. Jean made us feel most welcome. It was the perfect spot to unwind after a couple of long drives. The restaurant recommendations were excellent. We made use of the in-room fireplace to take the chill off. A most pleasant spot!

Whilst in Swakopmund these guests took a day tour to the coast south of Walvis Bay, here's what they said about it:

We really feel we had a true adventure on this day trip. We saw many varieties of birds, which Ernest helped us identify. There were varied landscapes, including the Kuseib Deltas and Sandwich Harbour. The scenery was breathtaking. Ernest navigated the dunes with great skill, [fortunately}, and the tide let us in to the Sandwich Harbour area itself. Again, Ernest's knowledge of the flora and fauna was superb Truly a most worthwhile experience." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana; 3n in South Africa; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Sandfields Guesthouse review"

2 nights Arrived 9 Sep 2013
"Had a really large room and huge bathroom with corner bath. Good advice on where to eat- it is out of the town so you need to have transport or take a taxi.

We went to Sandwich Bay with Turnstone Tours and this was a superb trip out along the coast. It is also really worthwhile going up to Cape Cross to the seal colony." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Sandfields in Swapkopmund"

2 nights Arrived 11 May 2012
"We liked Swapkopmund. It was a refreshing change to be in a town with trees, paved streets and activity. Our host was very helpful in planning our days, including suggestions on where to visit after we left her.

The room was in a small building extended from their home (3 guest rooms) , facing 2 gardens on either end. It was spacious, clean, with tea and treats in the room, and a good bathroom with large shower. Breakfast was excellent with home baked muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt with the usual english breakfast available. Laundry was taken in the morning and returned, ironed , in the evening. She sent us to a good bookstore in town, with suggestions for local reading, with directions to take the path along the ocean - an easy and beautiful walk.

We would have stayed another day with more time available." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana; 4n in South Africa; 2n in Zambia

"Sandfields Guesthouse review"

3 nights Arrived 30 Mar 2011
"What an amazing place!

We had the best possible end of our trip at Sandfields. The guesthouse is modern, functional, well-located but it would be nothing without the care and work of Jean, who made our stay very special, we felt at home.

The highlight is how perfect this place is for young kids, from the meals every evening to the baby sittings so that we could go out, through the presence of a same-aged child who our daughter could happily play with in the perfect garden.

This place is a gem!" See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia
