"Zimbabwe at Last"

I visited Zimbabwe between 25 Apr 2019 and 8 May 2019
"We waited a very long time before taking the plunge and visiting Zimbabwe. What a revelation to find that despite everything, the national parks are thriving with the most wonderful birds and animals.

The lodge system as we saw it matches any we have experienced elsewhere and the guiding is absolutely second to none. There are wrinkles but they are minor and should not deter anyone from visiting this most beautiful of Southern African countries.

We have always had full confidence in Expert Africa and once again it all worked. Thank you." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 9 on a Zimbabwe safari

"Loved Bomani "

I visited Zimbabwe between 24 Apr 2019 and 30 Apr 2019
"I really loved my trip. The tented lodge was clean and guides pleasant and knowledgeable.
Weather was beautiful as were the sunsets and the stars at night. Good game drives. Liked Hwange a lot. There’s also the private concession on Bomani so we did night drives as well. They also have a really cool underground “bunker” so to speak with open spaces that lookup onto elephants as they drink from a waterhole right in front of the open spaces from which you’re looking out.
I liked the remoteness of the lodge as well. There’s no fences so you definitely hear animals at night outside your tent!" Read full review: 6 nights in Africa; 3 on a Zimbabwe safari

"Top of the range guiding"

I visited Zimbabwe between 20 Apr 2019 and 9 May 2019
"Zimbabwe is famous for the quality of its guiding and we weren't disappointed. Differences in age, experience and interests among guides at the three camps we visited made for an excellent, well-rounded trip.

We did more bush walking here than on any of our previous several trips in other African countries and enjoyed it very much (especially when a surprised aardwolf resting in long grass jumped out right in front of us!).

Compared to many previous safaris, the night drives were exceptional (providing some great photographic opportunities).

We were glad we selected camps in two very distinct parts of Hwange NP before going north to Mana Pools, which was different again.

Conditions varied too: the Camp Hwange area was still very green; Somalisa Expeditions (still in Hwange) and Vundu at Mana Pools both unseasonally dry.

We were taken aback by the large numbers of elephants, particularly in eastern Hwange, but fear for the future with Zimbabwe exporting elephants (and other wildlife) from there to China because of its dire financial situation plus continued poaching, voiced on the ground at Mana Pools.

All three camps' accommodation was very good though vegetarian food was a bit variable, the best being at Somalisa Expeditions camp." Read full review: 19 nights in Africa; 17 on a Zimbabwe safari

"Zambia and Zimbabwe safari"

"I try not to anticipate nor expect too much so I won't be disappointed - this trip far exceeded anything I could have imagined, I enjoyed it all so much and it all ran smoothly except the weather the first day but then I would not have experienced Latitude 15.

Thank you for organising such a wonderful itinerary, Freddie, did a great job." Read full review: 16 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zimbabwe safari

"Brilliant Zimbabwe Trip"

I visited Zimbabwe between 11 Nov 2018 and 22 Nov 2018
"Could not have been much better.

As regular safari travellers we accept not everything will go exactly as planned and you certainly can't guarantee what wildlife you will see but what you hope for is an overall experience that makes you think, yes that was a great holiday, and that is what we got.

Everyone from Imvelo Safaris that we encountered was a credit to the company and Zimbabwe is certainly a safari destination we can strongly recommend.

Expert Africa were again efficient and will be our first point of call for our next safari, thank you." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 9 on a Zimbabwe safari

"One of the best trips ever."

I visited Botswana and 1 other country between 31 Oct 2018 and 12 Nov 2018
"Expert Africa advice & arrangements excellent.

Light aircraft transfer was probably not necessary, provided no real advantage & caused restrictions on luggage.

Although there was a snafu in our transfer from Hwange Camp back to Vic Falls, the situation was satisfactorily remedied and the tour operator compensated us with free river cruise and Vic Falls walking tour. Essentially the pick-up was missed but with the help of staff from The Hide and a volunteer from a friend of the transfer company (?Wild Horizons) we were eventually (2.75 hrs late) driven back to VF & met about half-way by the tour company driver." "Excellent trip to Hwange"

I visited Zimbabwe between 25 Oct 2018 and 17 Nov 2018
"On our 3 week stay in Hwange our wish was to spend the maximum time game viewing. And this was what we got, from the moment we stepped off the aircraft at Manga airstrip until the time we left. Absolutely brilliant!

Expert Africa is very efficient and Tom took into account everything we wanted from the outset, spending some time to juggle things around to fit in with timings, availability and budget.

We were looking for small basic bush camps and the 4 camps we stayed in ranged from the more basic to those with slightly more comfort. Each provided their own unique experience, and even the more basic camps were extremely comfortable.

In a country that is currently experiencing a food and fuel shortage, it is unbelievable how these camps still manage to keep providing such an excellent service. And how they manage to provide such good food and in such quantities. We have both come back several pounds heavier!!

In all the camps, the staff were efficient and friendly and the guiding was exceptional. It was great to see that people living and working in that environment all the time are still so passionate about the wildlife around them. The available activities such as game drives, walks, and using the hides, gave a good variety, and made for an excellent experience with some extremely close encounters with the wildlife!

With all wildlife you can never guarantee what you will see, and it is very much dependent on time of year and weather conditions. Overall we had an abundant and excellent wildlife experience to make for a really great safari, and one we will never forget!

Apart from the wildlife survey list of species, we did see several other species that we would count as notable ‘sightings’, such as: some magnificent kudu, tortoise, honey badger, reedbuck, tsessebe, waterbuck, bat-eared fox, wild cat."
