"Nkwazi Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 13 Sep 2011
"Good location for an overnight stop between Mushara (Eastern Etosha) & Nxamaseri Lodge (Okavango panhandle) with views across the river to Angola. It would have been possible to miss this lodge & do the jouney in one day - perhaps Expert Africa could suggest this but with a 'disclaimer' that it would need an early start & leave no margin for delay.

Rooms in need of an upgrade - mosquito nets need repair/replacement, & only paraffin lamp after generator turned off. There is a longish walk in the dark across a ditch to get to rooms from central restaurant area. The latter was good with good food & service." "Nkwazi Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 30 Jan 2011
"A nice little lodge in a lovely setting on the banks of the Okavango and overlooking Angola. Somewhat difficult to access due to excess water in the Okavango washing away their road.

However thay did an excellent job of getting us in and out by boat and even washed our car which was carrying a large amount of Etosha mud at that point. We were the only patrons.

Mosquito nets were provided." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana

"Nkwazi Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 10 Nov 2010
"We only stayed one night but would have been happy to stay longer.
The room was rustic and spacious with good facilities.
The location on the riverside was interesting - I was able to watch Angolan dancers on the opposite bank.
The food was very good and Valerie the owner welcomed everybody at the table. We were also treated to cake and drinks on arrival.
Valerie supports the local villagers with sales in her shop and also dancing displays - the money goes direct to them." See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia

"Nkwazi Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 17 Sep 2010
"Our arrival seemed a little haphazard and I was not sure that they were expecting us. It took several looks at vraious pieces of paper to see where which rooms we were to stay in. We did not meet the owners at this time. The staff were however keen to help in whatever way they could. It was good to be able to park the car immediatly next to our room.

Unfortunately the site had been affected by flooding over a long period earlier in the year, and this has resulted in the swimming poool being relocated to higher ground, away from the balcony area immediatley in front of the main meeting area. The works are still underway, and while we were told that the pool was fit to swim in now, it looked to me like there is still a fair bit of work to do.

The flooding does not appear to have adversely affected the other facilities such as roooms which were of a good size and well equipped.

Food was served in buffet style and there was a good selection of dishes, and the food tasted good and there was plenty of it." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia; 2n in Zambia

"The recent floods had done some damage to the lodge and its grounds, but the rooms were clean.

The owners and the staff were great, super-friendly and very committed to making our stay pleasant. And the food was absolutely super." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 1n in Zambia

"Nkwazi Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 27 Feb 2009
"Some 8 miles off the main road , outside Rundu. A camp on the banks of the main Okavango river. We arrived late afternoon and the room was fine.

We were not offered any activities , but were not that bothered as we only using the camp for an overnight stop. Both the evening meal and breakfast were buffet style and fine. Again the car was cleaned first thing in the morning unprompted." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana
