"Tafika - the leopard camp"
Stopping by the river to watch the herd of zebra as well as the fishing party of marabou storks on one day and then a family of elephants on the last day were 2 other highlights. And I won't forget the elephants munching on the tree attached to our chalet and the lion roaring right on the other side of the chalet wall either.
Everyone (staff and other guests) was great company at dinner and on the walks. The staff are a little less relaxed and generous with the dinner here than at the bush camps. The guiding was excellent and we also enjoyed a car to ourselves on 2 of the night drives.
I was a bit disappointed not to get the room I requested at the edge of camp." See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia

"Tafika review"
However, why did we have to drive back to Mafue when Tafika has an air strip?
We lost 1.5 hours + 20 minutes from our holiday and had to pay airport tax. The driver spent 3 hours driving us to Mafue and then driving himself back (1.5 hours each way) and The pilot had to fly an extra 40 minutes since he had flown over Tafika to get to Mafue and then flew us back over it on our way out.
Niether we,Tafika and the pilot to understand why." See all these reviews: 11n in Zambia
With regards to the flight, sometimes the way we charter light aircraft may not appear to make any sense at all! Rest assured it usually does, but there are a lot of factors to take into account.
However, taking this traveller’s comments on board, we have implemented systems to ensure that where logistics work, we use an easier route for this flight in the future.
"Tafika review"
We were particularly impressed with the expertise and kindness of Heather and of (guide) Brian - plus with the fact that the entire family would join the guests for lunch every day. The microlight trips were a novel and enjoyable extra - and the flexibility of the camp made it seem a very personalised experience.
Very highly recommended." See all these reviews: 12n in Zambia
"Great stay at Tafika"
"Tafika review"
As in all the previous locations we were greeted very warmly.
Very much warmer here.
We had drives with Brian and Alex, both of whom were excellent. Giant Eagle Owl and Barred Owl on the first night, then leopard, bushbaby and honey badger.
Food excellent." See all these reviews: 10n in Zambia
"Tafika"
My one criticism of Tafika is that the rooms had bed-sized mosquito nets rather than larger walk-in mosquito nets that could include a table and a little walking room. I found the walk-in nets more user friendly." See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia
"Tafika Rocks"
The food was great and all the staff were very accommodating with Barb's food intolerances (especially where we had not previously specified these.) We couldn't have wished for better time, shame we didn't have longer.
The only slightly down point was that we didn't get to do the microlight trip as John Coppinger wasn't there." See all these reviews: 12n in Zambia
"Tafika review"
Tafika, Chikoko and Crocodile camps are run by the same company and have breakfast (at 5.30 am) before going out on the morning drive or walk. Frankly my stomach doesn't wake up until much later than I do and after experiencing the after drive breakfasts at Mwamba and Kaingo camps I have to say I prefer the latter, with a light lunch early afternoon." "superb safari and a first-rate camp"
Outstanding leopard sightings on night drive (and in daytime), crocodile meat-fest on dead buffalo, lion at night, porcupine, genet, civet, serval, elephant, huge buffalo herd, lots of antelope, kudu, etc. Loved the structure of the day - early wake up, breakfast round the camp fire on the riverbank, tea break in game drive, fabulous lunch, wonderful afternoon tea, sundowners, and very nice dinners.
The hosts were charming, the guides were great, everything was good.
Small quibble - the quality of the wine was poor, and worse than at the other camps." See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia
