"Nsefu review"

3 nights Arrived 26 Jun 2014
"Nsefu was the highlight of our holiday. The location, food and attention to detail by the staff were second to none. Braston, our guide, found us superb sightings of lions and leopards, along with other wildlife on the game drives and walks.
Hannah too was a fantastic hostess and the sundowner she organised on our final evening game drive was a lovely surprise." See all these reviews: 9n in Zambia

"Lovely to be back - feels like home!"

3 nights Arrived 16 Jun 2014
"No other camp on the Luangwa River has such a great location. The rondavels remain comfortable and well-equipped and provide all you could need.

As ever the food and service were first class and Braston manages the camp with quiet efficiency and a great sense of fun.

The walking safari to view the game feasting on a dead hippo was superb and got us very close indeed to the action - and Kanga even managed to get a leopard to come and say goodbye when we left!" See all these reviews: 11n in Zambia

"Mud, mud, glorious mud!"

3 nights Arrived 18 Mar 2014
"Arriving after an interesting 2 hour boat ride we settled into our little rondavel. These are compact but have room for everything you need.

After a heavy rain shower we set off on a boat trip on which we saw our one and only lion of the trip. Next morning we set off for a lovely walk to the stork colony, returning with 2-3kg of mud attached to each boot - no need for ankle weights here! Our boots were whisked away and returned later that afternoon cleaner than we'd ever seen them!

After more rain in the night the ladies declined to wade through the mud the next morning and enjoyed a leisurely boat trip whilst the gents went walkabout (or should that be splashabout??). Whilst we had rain every day here it never prevented us from doing some sort of activity.

Daudi and Braston were great hosts and guides and our little gang enjoyed much merriment around the dining table. Sadly the aardvark failed to put in an appearance!" See all these reviews: 8n in Zambia

"Superb location"

2 nights Arrived 3 Oct 2013
"If we return to Zambia we would revisit Nsefu which provided us with an overall great experience. The location is stunning and we suspect it would be a great camp to visit in early season. Similarly, to Tena Tena we were very fortunate in observing numerous Lions & leopards besides Elephant and numerous birds.

Our only slightly negative comment is the feeling that on some drives we did too much driving and were taken to the salt pans without any prior discussion on options for the drive. Our preference, if asked would have been to spend more time in the local Nsefu area. That said on our morning transfer drive we took time over tracking "signs of the wild" which was great." "Back to Nsefu after 42 years!"

3 nights Arrived 28 Sep 2013
"Very high levels of guiding, service, and food, with the original round house rooms well modernised - the only criticism being that the toilets could do with a bit more privacy within the washroom area.

The view from the bar and the river bank is tremendous, a huge panoramic sweep of the river in both directions, that will bear any amount of relaxed inspection. Having been on several safaris elsewhere in Zambia, we very much liked the guiding style of George who, more than most, is willing to stop and wait to see what may happen, and bring his experiences and thoughts to bear. We enjoyed our three days a great deal.

As with all camps, we would like to see some Zambian women employed in future to give local girls role models to aspire to." See all these reviews: 12n in Zambia

"2 nights at Nsefu"

2 nights Arrived 8 Sep 2013
"The rondavels felt a little close after Nkwali, but it was fine I soon got used to it. Its nice having the rondavels in a visible line as you got to know whose "home" was where. The room was fine and I liked being able to read just outside my door with a lovely view. The bathroom was a convenient layout. Like all the camps the bedside light was only just suitable for reading at night.
The dining area was fine but meant that only 50% were looking at the view. George had a sensitive attitude to the wildlife. I had my first walk here which was exciting and having tea and cake half way is a wonderful idea although I did feel sorry for the man who carried the water!. The wildlife here did mean having to extract a frog from the lavatory!" See all these reviews: 7n in Zambia

"Wonderful camp - quieter part of the reserve."

1 night Arrived 7 Sep 2013
"Beautiful camp in a quieter part of the reserve. George's passion and eagerness to share his vast knowledge of the bush was one of the highlights of the holiday.

The routes through the bush are less marked here and Braston and George's driving on the winding tracks and their eagle eyes helped to make my time very memorable. The genuine warmth of the welcome and the thoroughness with which every need is thought about in advance and catered for is remarkable." See all these reviews: 7n in Zambia
