"The Selinda Adventure Trail is amazing"

4 nights Arrived 25 Jul 2016
"Fantastic from start to finish! The Adventure Trail is a great experience. Mike was a superb guide (we met Simon at another camp and he seemed great too). We had the opportunity to see animals that you would never normally see, including cape clawless otters, eland and some very close up elephant.

The staff do a brilliant job of setting up the camps, making everything incredibly comfortable, and run smoothly. The food cooked over an open fire was unbelievable, particularly the steak on the last night. The tents and bedding are great, and we always slept very well after a day on the water and a hearty dinner.

We would strongly recommend this trip to anyone who is considering it." See all these reviews: 11n in Botswana

"Selinda Canoe Trail review"

3 nights Arrived 1 Oct 2012
"The canoe trail was cancelled because of low water but we decided to spend 5 days at Selinda nonetheless. Fortunately we were able to do three sessions of paddling on part of the canoe trail, including an overnight stay at a simple camp in the bush.

Our canoe guide Josh was excellent. We paddled close past three groups of stroppy hippos and Josh kept us safe. The bush camp team led by Dollar cooked us a great campfile meal with lions close by. a highlight was watching lions hunting buffalo from the canoes close up.

Our game drive guide Mots was also very good and found us a leopard and lots of good views of lion, antelope, birds and elephant.

Selinda Camp was very luxurious and the staff were excellent. The managers John and Liz anticipated our every want and were very thorough and kind." See all these reviews: 8n in Botswana

"Selinda Canoe Trail review"

3 nights Arrived 26 Sep 2012
"We were initially very disappointed to learn just before we left for Botswana, that the canoe trail had been cancelled due to the low water levels. We were therefore very pleased when Josh, our guide, informed us at the airstrip that we would be after all be able to do part of the trail and include a bush camp for one of the nights.

The other 2 nights we spent at Selinda Explorers Camp, which had just been opened, and was excellent.. Although a bush camp it harks back to the days of old explorers and is glamping rather than camping, sited in a beautiful position. All the staff were wonderful but a particular highlight was Dollar's cooking. We are hoping to swap recipes!!!!

The canoe trail was all that we hoped it to be - and it was an interesting experience to canoe pass hippo pods and to see buffalo so close from the canoe. It was great fun to actually have a night out in the bush and was an experience not to be missed.

Josh was a superb and knowledgeable guide and made you feel very safe whilst on the canoe and on our walks." See all these reviews: 9n in Botswana

"Selinda Canoe Trail review"

3 nights Arrived 12 Jun 2011
"We had an excellent three day trip on the Selinda canoe trail. It was very relaxing gently paddling down the river and we were lucky to spot some good wildlife from the water. Our guide was excellent - always enthusiastic, very willing to listen to what we'd like to do and see, and he made our daily schedule very flexible so that we could spend as much time in one area as we could if we were seeing something good there.

The rest of the camp staff (chef, bar man and two camp hands) were also brilliant - the camp was set up beautifully, there was always hot water for showers, cold drinks, the beds were incredibly comfortable and the team went about doing their work very good naturedly. Definitely the most luxurious camping experience we've ever had!

The food also deserves a special mention - it was simply excellent for every meal, with good variety. One thing to say for the canoe trail is that it isn't the same as going on a game drive from the lodge - it's much harder to spot game from a lower vantage point so animal sightings tend to be much less frequent, though the quietness of the canoes in the water allows you to get much closer to the animals without scaring them off."
