An exceptional opportunity to reach and explore one of Africa's most remote parks. In April to June, and October to December it's possible to witness thousands of wildebeest in their second biggest migration on earth, as well as discover over 300 species of birds, follow cheetah, spot hyaena in clans of up to 50 individuals, and perhaps even spot the famous lioness Lady Liuwa - no longer the only lion left in the park!

Staying at Norman Carr Safaris new King Lewanika Lodge for 4 nights gives you a unique opportunity to explore the area from the heart of the national park.


Days 1-4

4 nights at King Lewanika Lodge (full board & activities) | Liuwa Plain National Park, Zambia

The new camp in Liuwa Plain NP, King Lewanika Lodge, due to open in May 2017.Starting in Livingstone, you'll connect onto a flight to Kalabo. On arrival you'll be met and driven in an open 4WD for the transfer to camp, a journey of approximately three hours. You'll then arrive at King Lewanika Lodge, deep in the heart of Liuwa Plain National Park, which will be your base for exploring the area over the next 4 nights. You will have one of the excellent Norman Carr guides for this trip as you view the park from vehicles and on foot. With no fixed itinerary, this safari is really about exploring and experiencing this amazing park at your own pace.

Day 5

Today you will be transferred back to Kalabo airstrip by vehicle (October to December), or by boat (May to June) across the wide Zambezi floodplain. From there your flight will take you back to Livingstone, with plenty of time to connect onto your overnight flight to London Heathrow.
